Pharmacy is the art and science of preparing and dispensing drugs and medicines. It also refers to a retail shop where medicine and other articles are sold, which is a limited definition of the term. Bachelor of Pharmacy is an Undergraduate Academic Degree awarded for a course or program in the field of Pharmacy. It is also known as B.Pharm. or B.Pharma. which is an abbreviated form of Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy. Pharmacy education and profession in India up to graduate level is regulated by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), a statutory body governed by the provisions of the Pharmacy Act, 1948 passed by the Indian Parliament. Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy enables one to practice the profession of a Pharmacist. The duration of B.Pharm. is 4 years. B.Pharm. curriculum provides valuable knowledge of health care and bio chemical science. Students are expected to perform a number of experiments along with theory classes covered over a number of semesters. B.Pharm. (Hons.) programme is also offered by variosu Institutes.  Eligibility
Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy requires a candidate to have cleared 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Maths (PCM) or Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) or Physics, Chemistry, Maths & Biology as subjects. One must also pass with at least 50% marks in Pre University Course with biology/mathematics as one of the subjects, or complete a D.Pharma. (Diploma in Pharmacy). In some states it is also mandatory to give an additional pharmacy entrance examination in order to be eligible for the course.

Physiotherapy is a medical science field which uses physical agents like exercise, massage and other modalities for providing treatment to those patients whose movement and function are threatened by ageing, injury, disease or environmental factors. Bachelor of Physiotherapy is an Under Graduate Degree which is awarded for a course or program in Physiotherapy. It is also known as BPT which is an abbreviated form of Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree. The duration of BPT is 4½ years including internship of 6 months. Physical Therapy Programs provide core skills like manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and the application of electro physical modalities, to the prospective students.

Eligibility
To pursue BPT one needs to be pass in 12th class or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in physics, chemistry and biology (including practical) provided the candidate has passed in each subject separately. There is a Common Entrance Test (CET) for the course in Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT). Admission is based mainly on CET scores. A candidate seeking admission to Bachelor of Physiotherapy should be at least 17 years of age.

Bachelor of Dental Surgery is an Undergraduate Academic Degree awarded for a course or program in the field of Dentistry. It is popularly known as B.D.S. which is an abbreviated form of Bachelor of Dental Surgery.  The duration of Bachelor of Dental Surgery course is 4-5 years of study with internship and without internship, Manipal College of Dental Sciences offers the course in the mentioned formats. The course was available with internship before 2007. However, in 2007, the Dental Council of India restructured the course and made it a 5 Year course without Internship. This was done because as per DCI, students or colleges didn’t take internship seriously and academicians also felt that internship was not serving its purpose. But, this regulation though under affect, is under consideration. The B.D.S. course is divided into 2 or more semesters. After M.B.B.S., Bachelor of Dental Surgery is one the most sought after degree in the field of medical science. B.D.S. enables one to become a Dentist. Dental Courses comprise didactic lectures, demonstrations, group discussions, seminars, clinical work and conferences. Aspiring candidates learn about different aspects of dental science, which includes various forms of treatment including surgical procedure. Dental materials, Dental anatomy & Oral histology, Oral Pathology, Community Dentistry, Pedodontics, Oral Medicine & Radiology are some of the topics that are generally taught.

Dental School Requirements include H.S.C. (10+2) with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with at least 50% marks. Admission to graduate courses in dentistry is through a general, nationwide competitive examination. Entrance Examinations are conducted in major cities all over India. Advertisements are given , regarding issue of Application forms for Common Entrance Examination, important dates  etc., in all leading newspapers all over India and also notified. The All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Exam conducted by the CBSE is common for both the M.B.B.S. and the Bachelor of Dental Sciences (BDS). The allocation of institutions is based on merit. Other than the centrally run medical institutions there is at least one dental college in most states, where admission is governed by domiciliary status. But to be eligible for practice, one must ensure that the course chosen is approved by the Dental Council of India.

Master of Pharmacy is a Post Graduate Academic Degree which is awarded for a course or program in the field of Pharmacy. It is also known as M.Pharm. or M.Pharma. The duration of Master Degree in Pharmacy is 2 years. M.Pharma. is divided into a number of semesters. At the end of the each semester, there shall be an examination wherein candidates are examined in the courses prescribed for that semester. Students are also required to submit Thesis at the end of the last semester. Master Degree in Pharmacy provides a candidate with various practical aspects of the research methodologies, instrumental techniques, emerging areas and industrial operations. Master of Pharmacy (Hons.) can also be pursued by those who want a strong exposure to Pharmacy subjects. There are various Pharmacy Schools in India which provide Master of Pharmacy course. Candidates who have passed Bachelor of Pharmacy degree Programme with not less than 50% of marks, of this University or any other University recognised as equivalent thereto by this University, are eligible for admission to the Master of Pharmacy Programmes. For SC/ST candidates, the eligibility is a pass in the B.Pharm. degree Programme. An entrance examination Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) and interview is also conducted for admission. GPAT is an all India Examination to be conducted by the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara on behalf of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The Scores in Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) were in use till the year 2009 for admission in Masters Programme in Pharmacy (M.Pharm) and also for awarding fellowships/scholarships to Pharmacy graduates along with engineering graduates. The Organizing Committee for GATE expressed its inability to include Pharmacy graduates in GATE with effect from the year 2010, owing to operational problems due to large number of candidates appearing for GATE examination. Therefore, in order to facilitate admission of Pharmacy graduates in M.Pharm. as also to award fellowships/scholarships to Pharmacy graduates, AICTE decided to organize and conduct an examination in the name of Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) with effect from academic year 2010-11. Accordingly, a National Monitoring Committee (NMC) was constituted for monitoring the issues pertaining to the policy as well as conduct of GPAT examination.
